On 27th April 2020, Xiaomi announced MIUI 12 which will bring revamped graphics, animations, new gestures, live wallpapers, privacy, and new accessibility features to a range of their smartphone devices. As the beta testing has been ended, the stable version is expected to roll out from June onwards.
The company said that the MIUI 12 will be supported on 40 Xiaomi smartphones in China, and they have published a list of devices getting this update. Check to see if you are one of them.

What are the core new features of MIUI 12?
The core new features of MIUI 12 includes revamped graphics, animations, new gestures, live wallpapers, and more privacy & accessibility improvements. With this update, the user will have improved dark mode with wallpaper dimming along with new navigation gestures. The new animations are said to be faster and more fluid.
The addition of PIP (Picture-In-Picture), an AI calling feature with live transcription, as well as some new fitness features with a built-in sleep tracker will come with this update.
The company said that it has passed the Android Enhanced Privacy Protection Test. A new feature called Flare takes care of all permissions attained by the apps. After installing the MIUI 12 update, the users can also grant permissions to an app for a specified amount of time. There will also be a new virtual ID security tool that's supposed to prevent apps from accessing device information.
What are the MIUI 12 supported devices?
Though the update is expected to release in the month of June 2020, the company said that all the supported devices will not receive MIUI 12 at the same time. This will roll out in a phased manner to a batch of supported devices.
The first batch will include Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10 Youth Edition, Mi 9, Mi 9 Pro 5G, Mi 9 Transparent Edition, Redmi K30, Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition, Redmi K30 5G, Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 Pro Premium Edition. These devices will see the MIUI 12 update rolling out by the end of June.
The second batch of devices getting MIUI 12 update are Mi Mix 3, Mi Mix 2S, Mi CC9 series, Mi 9 SE, Mi 8 series, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro, and Redmi Note 8 Pro. The company has not yet announced the date when the update will start rolling out to these devices.
The third batch includes Mi CC9E, Mi Note 3, Mi Max 3, Mi 8 Lite, Mi 8 SE, Mi Mix 2, Mi 6X, Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A, Redmi 7, Redmi 7A, Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6A, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi S2.
