Microsoft has started showing a red warning message "Your device is at risk because it's out of date and missing important security and quality updates" to the users, who have not updated their Windows 10 system for a while.
This warning message can be found in the Windows Update settings page. If you are one of them, read further to know more about it.
If you have paused your Windows 10 update check or have not updated the system for a while, you will start getting a red warning message on your Windows 10 Update Settings page. This may also appear if (for some reason) either the latest version or the security patches have not been downloaded or installed on the system.
The message will show the following text:
Your device is at risk because it's out of date and missing important security and quality updates. Let's get back on track so Windows can run more securely.
If you see this warning message, check for latest updates and download them. If the download has been completed and ready to install, click the 'Restart' button to start the upgrade process. If, for any reason, download was not complete; then you will see a 'Retry' button to continue the same.
Though this was added to keep your system secure by installing the latest updates and patches from Microsoft, but a question arise that how many people will really go to the update page to check for this error! Better to add a notification message to the user which will popup at a certain interval, if the user has not recently updated his/her system. Point for Microsoft to check on this. Cheers!
