Microsoft released the RTM version of Visual Studio 2013 in October 2013 and after that, this is the first release of an update for it named “Visual Studio 2013 Update 1”. This version includes a set of fixes for the issues and improvements requested by the users.

Visual Studio 2013 Update 1 is a cumulated update package that installs on top of the existing product. In this first release of the update, Microsoft focused giving out fixes and improvements to the product. In a blog post, S. Somasegar, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Developer Division clearly mentioned that: “This is a targeted update, addressing some key areas of customer feedback since the Visual Studio 2013 release. For example, we heard your feedback about running Visual Studio in environments without IE10+, and have made several improvements to this experience in Update 1.”.
How to download Visual Studio 2013 Update 1?
If you are looking to get the installer for the Visual Studio 2013 Update 1, you can download it from one of the below mentioned Microsoft Server links. Microsoft already scanned the setup files for viruses and claims to be virus free.
In case you downloaded the web installer of the update, you can create an offline installer from it too. Once the download is complete, open a command prompt, navigate to the download location and run VS2013.1.exe /layout. Then specify where to download the files and click the Download button. This will start the installer and download the entire package for you.
