Microsoft announced the availability of Office 2019 Commercial Preview of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, Project, Visio and OneNote for Windows 10. This is the first preview release and will only run in Windows 10.
If you are not a Office 365 subscriber, you may want to download Office 2019 Preview and give it a try to submit feedback to Microsoft in it's early development stage.
Speaking at the Morgan Stanley TMT conference in March 2018, Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella claimed that Office 365 offers the greatest opportunity for Microsoft as a program and enterprise in the company's history. Office 365 ProPlus delivers the most productive and most secure Office experience with the lowest TCO for deployment and management.
The customers who aren't yet ready to move to the cloud, Office 2019 provides an update to the perpetual apps with new features for both end users and IT. As per earlier announcement, Microsoft released it's first preview build of Office 2019 Suite, which will provide 5 years of mainstream support and approximately 2 years of extended support. This is an exception to the Fixed Life cycle Policy to align with the support period for Office 2016.
The Office 2019 Commercial Preview consists of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, Project, Visio, OneNote and will run only on supported versions of Windows 10. Point to note that the Office 2019 client apps released with the Click-to-Run installation technology only, and there will not be any provision of MSI as a deployment methodology of the client apps.
How to download Office 2019 Preview client?
This preview program is not intended for organizations that plan to deploy or have already deployed Office as part of an Office 365 subscription plan. If you are planning to deploy the perpetual (volume licensed) version of Office 2019 when it's released later this year, and would like to participate in the Microsoft Office 2019 Commercial Preview program now, follow the steps mentioned in this post to download the deployment package from official Microsoft site.
In order to download the deployment package of Office 2019 Suite, you or your company must register for the Microsoft Office 2019 Commercial Preview Program.
